-FIXED- Name issues...

This probably has more to do with the fact that my username is a bit unusual... Since it technically looks like this: \ \ \Bria_Teragram\ \ on Gaia's end, but it only shows the spaces, which in effect are invisible to the naked eye with formatting.

But when you click on my name in the portal it says I'm not ranked even though it shows me in 2nd.

This is probably something that won't occur often as most people that have a glitched name don't fish with it or can't anymore.

Also, there was a user fishing earlier in the month Servbot # 13 and his stats would never load. It would show his name as Servbot, so I'm assuming it has something to do with the '#' messing with the coding.

I see you ranked on your user page, Bria. Screenshot.

The # is a special character in SQL. Probably something should be done about it and similar SQL that can escape strings (' and -- spring to mind)

He just fixed it so it shows my ranking. You can look at him talking about it in the shoutbox

I missed your thread somehow :/

Anyway, yea, the old stats site didn't escape anything. The new *should* escape everything properly, although there may be a few spots I've missed.

I fixed your name with trim(), not really accurate since technically your name does have the special chars in it... but easier than fixing everything in the DB/links/etc.

From what I can tell by looking at the page source of Gaia, it doesn't display the escape characters at all, though they are needed to 'search' for my name. Though searching for "Bria_Teragram" will bring up my mule without the spaces and escape characters. When it goes to display my username it takes the escape characters literally and just posts the spaces, but since there are just spaces, you don't actually see them. Even in the fishing room you just see that my name has extra room in front and behind it. Quoting a post will show the spaces as well, but visibly they aren't there because of the formatting.

Aye, visibly; but the parser doesn't look visually, lol ;(

It was losing it for Lake Rankings and just lake rankings because of the way I pass the name through the URL.

But, taking the spaces off works too; it shouldn't ever be a problem again with anyone who has names like this. I'm really glad yours was actually lol... else I wouldn't have found out about the issue for quite some time.
